Harold Crick is an auditor of Internal Revenue Services. He lives his life guided by his wristwatch, timing everything he does, counting how many strokes of brush he makes when he brushes his teeth, counting the steps he makes as he crosses the street, and etc.

Not until one Wednesday, when something strange happened. As he does his routine, a voice suddenly spoke, a strange woman’s voice which talks whenever he does his routine, describing exactly what he was doing, as if she’s narrating what’s happening in his day, his story, his life. He doesn’t believe that he’s with a mental illness, so he visited a literature expert so he can know if this strange narration of his life that he’s literally hearing, is a comedy, or a tragedy.
